When the days get shorter and the weather more uncomfortable the time has come to escape the cold. Not too far from the Portuguese capital of Lisbon the subtropical Island of Madeira entices visitors with wild coastlines, rugged mountains and abundant vegetation. During my last visit to Madeira I tried to capture the essence of the island with my camera.

With the Canary Islands I have set foot on completely uncharted territory – at least for my photography.

The blend of subtropical flora and volcanic geology inspired me for new photographs and leaves me with a desire to return soon.

My third visit to the island of fire and ice provided an opportunity to explore the remote Icelandic highlands.

The barren and empty landscape lets you forget the never ending stream of visitors crowding the ring road along the coast. If you are prepared to tackle the adventurous roads and the changeable weather you will be rewarded with extraordinary photographs.

Christmas is not far away and my yearly exhibition is open from 22 November to 22 December in the small town of Rust near Lake Neusiedl.

I will be there to answer any questions about my photography or just for a short chat.
